The single most important item for a sniper is his log / data book.  This gives him the ability to hit targets with a single bullet.

The Process:

During practice, a sniper will engage various targets at multiples of distances.  Example:  A target has been ranged at 635 yards.  Factors to consider prior to engagement include distance to target, wind speed, wind direction, temperature, elevation (above sea level), barometric pressure, humidity, target displacement (due to mirage), etc.  The sniper will then make estimated adjustments to the scope's turrets.  Once complete, he will engage the target and then check where the bullet(s) impacted and log them in the log/data book.  Now he can make any necessary adjustments to the scope to hit the center of the target and re-log any adjustments made.  The next time the sniper encounters a similiar situation he can refer back to his sniper log/data book for the exact adjustments needed to hit the target with a single bullet.

This process will build the sniper's confidence in his shooting ability and equipment.

When it comes to delivering the bullet, the sniper log/data book is the most important tool to sniper training.

Used by Military Snipers, SWAT Snipers, Federal Agency Snipers, Border Patrol Snipers, Coast Guard Snipers, Tactical Competitors, Long-Range Hunters
